Key Takeaways:

  • Bitwise has launched the first-ever Aptos staking ETP (APTB) on Switzerland’s SIX Swiss Exchange, offering European investors access to staked Aptos tokens with an expected 4.7% return.
  • Aptos, a high-performance blockchain with major partnerships, has over 8 million active users and more than 250 hosted projects, reflecting its growing ecosystem.
  • U.S. regulatory shifts, following the recent election, could influence future approvals for crypto ETFs that include staking, potentially impacting assets like Solana and XRP.

Bitwise has launched the first-ever Aptos (APT) staking exchange-traded product (ETP) in Europe, allowing investors access to staked Aptos tokens through the SIX Swiss Exchange starting November 19.

This ETP, known as the Bitwise Aptos Staking ETP (APTB), is physically backed and offers a net return of about 4.7%, which will be reinvested within the product.

This launch expands Bitwise’s European offerings, joining other staking products like its Ethereum ETP.

However, U.S. regulations currently prevent such staking-focused products, restricting U.S.-listed ETFs to non-staking assets like Bitcoin and Ether.

Aptos, a high-performance layer-1 blockchain launched in 2022, supports over 250 projects, 8 million monthly users, and has surpassed 1.7 billion transactions.

It has partnered with major firms like Microsoft, Amazon, and Coinbase.

With a market cap of $6.5 billion and over 80% of its tokens staked, Aptos’ network currently yields an approximate 7% return for stakers.

Looking ahead, potential regulatory changes in the U.S., especially following Donald Trump’s election, may impact staking restrictions and possibly pave the way for a broader range of crypto ETFs, including assets like Solana, XRP, and Litecoin.
