Ripple’s longtime chief technology officer (CTO) David Schwartz has announced he will step back from daily operations at the end of 2025 after more than 13 years with the company.
Schwartz, a cryptographer who joined Ripple in 2011 and later became CTO in 2018, played a central role in building the XRP Ledger.

In a post on X, he said he wanted more time with family and to revisit personal hobbies but stressed he would remain active in the XRP community.
He will hold the honorary title of chief technology officer emeritus and also join Ripple’s board of directors.
Ripple confirmed that Dennis Jarosch, senior vice president of engineering, will assume leadership of the technical team.
